We have here a design which features prominently the Birthday number, hearts, Celtic cross, lucky horseshoe, daffodil and the Welsh Dragon.
The custom of giving a lovespoon is unique to Wales and originated in the 17th century. When lovers would offer intricately carved lovespoons, bearing symbols of their feelings and hopes to their partners.
Today we give lovepoons as gestures of friendship and as special occasion, engagement, wedding and anniversary gifts. They also make excellent reminders of a visit to Wales.
The A.E Williams family have been making Pewter since 1779. Historically A.E Williams have produced traditional pewterware for Royal Palaces, Cathedrals, Stately homes. As well as for major blockbuster films including Harry Potter, Titanic and Sweeney Todd to name but a few.

It is good to know that Pewter does not require constant attention or arm aching polishing as it does not tarnish as readily as Silver or Silver Plate.
Each of our lovespoons is sent to you beautifully presented in a gift box. With a card explaining the different symbols and their meaning. It also gives some history on the custom of giving a lovespoon.
